Tokyo (東京, TĹŤkyĹŤ, "Eastern Capital") (Japanese: [toËkjoË], English /ËtoĘŠki.oĘŠ/), officially Tokyo Metropolis (東京é˝, TĹŤkyĹŤ-to), is one of the 47 prefectures of Japan, and is both the capital and largest city of Japan. The Greater Tokyo Area is the most populous metropolitan area in the world. It is the seat of the Emperor of Japan and the Japanese government. Tokyo is in the KantĹŤ region on the southeastern side of the main island Honshu and includes the Izu Islands and Ogasawara Islands. Formerly known as Edo, it has been the de facto seat of government since 1603 when Shogun Tokugawa Ieyasu made the city his headquarters. It officially became the capital after Emperor Meiji moved his seat to the city from the old capital of Kyoto in 1868; at that time Edo was renamed Tokyo. Tokyo Metropolis was formed in 1943 from the merger of the former Tokyo Prefecture (東京府, TĹŤkyĹŤ-fu) and the city of Tokyo (東京市, TĹŤkyĹŤ-shi).

Japan (i/dĘ’É™Ëpæn/; Japanese: 日本 Nippon [nipĚšpõ̞ɴ] or Nihon [nihõ̞ɴ]; formally 日本国  Nippon-koku or Nihon-koku, "State of Japan") is an island country in East Asia. Located in the Pacific Ocean, it lies to the east of the Sea of Japan, the East China Sea, China, North Korea, South Korea and Russia, stretching from the Sea of Okhotsk in the north to the East China Sea and Taiwan in the south. The kanji that make up Japan's name mean "sun origin", and Japan is often called the "Land of the Rising Sun".
Japan is a stratovolcanic archipelago of 6,852 islands. The four largest are Honshu, Hokkaido, Kyushu, and Shikoku, which make up about ninety-seven percent of Japan's land area. Japan's population of 126Â million is the world's tenth largest. Approximately 9.1 million people live in Tokyo, the capital city of Japan, which is the sixth largest city proper in the OECD. The Greater Tokyo Area, which includes Tokyo and several surrounding prefectures, is the world's largest metropolitan area with over 35 million residents and the world's largest urban agglomeration economy.
The 12-inch single (often simply called 12") is a type of gramophone record that has wider groove spacing and shorter playing time compared to typical LPs. This allows for louder levels to be cut on the disc by the cutting engineer, which in turn gives a wider dynamic range, and thus better sound quality. This record type is commonly used in disco and dance music genres, where DJs use them to play in discos or clubs. They are played at either 33â…“ or 45 rpm.
12-inch singles typically have much shorter playing time than full-length LPs, thus require fewer grooves per inch. This extra space permits a broader dynamic range or louder recording level as the grooves' excursions (i.e., the width of the groove waves and distance traveled from side to side by the turntable stylus) can be much greater in amplitude, especially in the bass frequencies so important for dance music. Many record companies began producing 12-inch (30Â cm) singles at 33â…“ rpm, although 45 rpm gives better treble response and was used on many 12-inch singles, especially in the UK.

A real life capsule to sleep in. Cool! This is one of the most "ONLY in JAPAN" experiences possible — staying in a capsule hotel in a Japanese city. It’s cheap and convenient but why do people actually stay here? Is it ... you know ... big enough? In this episode, John Daub and Masahito Kawahata head to the Shinjuku Kuyakusho-mae Capsule Hotel in Kabukicho to find out. Japan’s Capsule Hotels are more than cheap places to crash. This type of hotel is distinctively Japanese in style, cramming in as much as possible into a tiny space to make a comfortable experience, but can a guest really be comfortable in one? More and more foreign tourists to Japan want to give it a try! How small are these capsule? How much is a night? What are the rules? Is it worth it? Miss your last train? Wor...

I've really nothing much to lose
It seems so sentimental
Why should I care?
Somewhere there's a sound of distant living
Locked up in high society
It seems so artificial
Why should I care?
Oh ho ho

Life in Tokyo
Oh ho ho
Life can be cruel
Life in Tokyo
Another vehicle heads for sunset
No other providence will do
They're only buildings and houses
Why should I care
Oh ho ho
Life can be cruel
Life in Tokyo
Oh ho ho
Life can be cruel
Life in Tokyo
Oh ho ho
Life can be cruel
Life in Tokyo
Oh ho ho
Life can be cruel
Life in Tokyo
Oh ho ho
Life can be cruel
